My name is Meaza Ashe. I was born in 12/14/1992 in Addis Ababa Ethiopia from two loving parents by the names of Tekekel Tekle and Alemayhu Ashe . I have three brothers and two sisters. I finished all my education elementary through high school at Yekatite 23 school. After high school, I started studying marketing and management at Royal College and it was in my second year that I got the opportunity to come to the U.S.
I arrived in the USA on March 23, 2014, enrolled at Houston Community College and have been attending ever since while working full time. Modeling has been my passion ever since I was a little girl. Back home in Addis, I used to actively involve in different activities related to it and am so happy that I got the chance to continue my work here in the U.S.; so far I have modeled for different modeling agencies like Neal Hamil Agency and many others.
I grew up in Addis Abeba, in an area called Merkato. Growing up most of my friends and I were raised by families who didn't have the means to send us to great schools and feed us three times a day. We were forced to look after our parents and younger siblings at a young age. As kids, most of my friends had so much talent in acting, singing, dancing and much more but there was no way for this talent to shine due to the poverty that surrounded us. We were only able to work towards our daily bread. Being one of the top ten I feel excited, honored and humbled all at the same time as I hope to be an inspiration for all the unprivileged young girls and boys; many of them have so much to offer our beloved Ethiopia and the world. If God's willing and I win this competition I would like to help make this young peoples' dreams come true by creating opportunities to develop their talent.
I have also participated in the entertainment industry by working at different radio stations by working as a host, as a reporter and as a researcher.
Now besides expanding my self in photography I am also working on a platform that me and my husband created known as Che, we have been giving free workshops and trainings on photography for amateur photographers. we hope to create a hub for artists and people interested in art where knowledge is exchanged, experiences are shared and voices are heard.
